I had purchased these glass jars from Ikea for storing things in the kitchen:
This weekend I went to Staples and picked up Martha Stewart chalkboard labels & colored chalk for these jars to label what the contents are! They are exclusive at Staples for the moment.
I also picked up these blue and green label stickers for any other things around the house I would want to put a label on. I love the new Martha Stewart office supplies.
Pretty stinkin’ cute right? No photos of my finished project yet. It’s hard not having internet access! Check out the new Martha Stewart line though.
Cabinet Hardware is on! Kitchen walls still have to get done. Putting mud on the drywall is taking a while.
Originally I wasn’t going to replace the sink, but Bob the Builder requested that I do to make his life easier. So off to HD we went and got this composite (fake cast iron) sink for about a hundred. Hasn’t been installed yet and we haven’t done the plumbing, but that should be happening tonight.
I’m going to use the faucet that came with the old sink, but if that causes a plumbing issue I would like to pick a faucet with a really tall neck.
We put five coats of Behlen Salad Bowl Finish on the butcher block. You have to wait 6 hours between each coat, and 72 hours after the last to cure it, so it is taking too long. I think we are going to stop at five and move on to installing the sink.
I have been looking for the table I’d like on craigslist, but I can’t seem to get one yet. If you see any listings like this for under $120 let me know, please!
Basically I search on the word “table” because when I find these posts, they never specify and then I just see from the photo that it is the kind of table I am looking for. Anything with a wood top/maple top and the white legs!
Here are some in-construction kitchen photos. I get access to this computer on the weekends, so everything we upload here is about a 1-2 week delay. Since these photos were taken we have cut the butcher block and placed the pieces onto the counters, painted the laundry room, and put up a shelving unit. The laundry room is TURQUOISE AND WHITE! Hurray.
For all doors, I am going to go with satin nickel finish knobs. For all drawer handles, I am going with satin nickel finish pulls.
